With the launch of Season 2 of Marvel Rivals the hype train keeps on running. Both from plays that have moved from Overwatch, to general gamers that are looking for something new to play, to even those who may not be into a lot of video games, but are into Marvel either from the comics, or the MCU.
While this is great for the health of the game, players who may not have played games like Rivals may find a learning curve to playing it. Not all Heroes are created equal. While come you can just pick up and play, others are a lot harder to do especially if you are not playing only in “Versus AI Mode.”
Please keep in mind, that while the list below is for easy to pick up characters, that does not mean they are easy to master. They are good starter characters to get the feel for the game, maps, and controls. But figuring out which heroes work good in a team, and against the opposing team will take time, and trial and error.

#5 The Punisher
DUELIST
The Punisher was my go to character when I was first starting out. This may be due to the fact that I loved being in a turret riding the mission vehicle on some maps. It also may be the fun ziplining around. He has a straightforward kit, and helped me learn placement.

#4 Thor
VANGUARD
Out of the all the Vanguards, Thor tends to have the easiest to learn kit. While The Thing would be a good second, I have found his Charged Run attack requires getting use to controlling. While Thor can quickly get in and out of battles, and has a more useful Ultimate in a lot of situations.

#3 Namor
DUELIST
What sets Namor up as the easiest to use Duelist is one word… SQUIDS! Both with his original Team Up with Luna, and now with his over powered Gama Squid thanks to his Hulk Team Up. It helps get you damage as they auto shoot, and KO’s while you are trying to learn aiming, and position. As well as his quick get away bubble.

#2 Jeff
STRATEGIST
Jeff may be higher on the list than most would put in thanks to the Season 0 Winter Event. Where it was all Jeff, all the time! It allowed you to learn one of the maps, as well as how to use Jeff in a fun setting. His kit is simple, movement fast, without being too fast.

#1 Cloak & Dagger
STRATEGIST
While Cloak & Dagger, and be a bit complicated to learn how and when to swap between the two. When it comes to straight healing, and getting a feel for who, and where to heal they tend to be one of the easier ones when first starting out. You don’t need fantastic aim, their Ultimate is easy to use. They have a self heal option, and then have a expanded kit, so you can grow with them.
